When you have money, what should you do with it?
I remember when I had money and I didn't know what to do with it. It has happened a few times in my life - I just didn't know what to invest in. The list of 'glamour' investments seems to grow every time there is a bit of a 'scare' in the economy. Common investment tools include share, property, internet and other schemes. They seem so appealing because they promise excellent returns. Returns are always related to risks. Your knowledge of 'glamour' investments may be limited. What happens after you put up the money? What are the behind-the-scenes implications?
I've learned from experience investing in several 'glamour' investments. I lost money on each one! I've come to the conclusion it's better to follow a sure and steady strategy. I personally like residential Real Estate to grow my wealth. I have never lost money investing in residential Real Estate. I have lost in every other financial investment I have made (except term deposits) - whether it be investing in shares, gold, ostriches, commercial real estate or trading the share price index.
